Exhibition and Benefit Auction: The Works of Dwaine Crigger

July 7, 2017 by mki1

The Art and Design Department is hosting an exhibition and benefit art auction featuring the works of Dwaine Crigger, who was an Emeritus Professor of Art at Missouri State until his death in 2016. Department Head Vonda Yarberry says the sale “will give his former students, collectors, and art-loving members of the public a chance to enjoy some of Dwaine’s work in their own homes or businesses. Right now in our Brick City Galleries we have the largest exhibition of his work ever assembled.” She notes that it will also honor Crigger’s legacy as an artist, ensuring that collectors continue to enjoy his work, which she describes as, “handsomely constructed and humorously evocative.” All proceeds from the event will go to the Dwaine and Judy Crigger Memorial Scholarship (http://www.missouristate.edu/CriggerMemorial ).

While the majority of his work was sculptural, there are a number of drawings and wall constructions available as well, and ranging in size from ten inches to ten feet tall.
