MSU Galleries to Exhibit Work for First Friday: March

February 27, 2018 by Nathan Morris

March is arriving seemingly quicker than ever, and with warm weather and rainy days, First Friday Art Walk is also upon us! This Friday, March 2, 22 locations across Springfield will be participating in the walk, including the Student Exhibition Center and the Brick City Gallery!

Student Exhibition Center: 838 E. Walnut St., presents Design & Image 2018: Biennial Graphic Design & Illustration Student Exhibition. The Students’ Exhibition Center is holding its biennial exhibition of the works of the students from the Design area which is a part of our Art & Design Department. There will be student’s works completed since the last Design & Image Exhibition. The showcase includes first-level, beginning undergraduate student projects that are visual communications-based and problem-oriented, some of our students’ last works that show advanced, individualized, and concept-oriented projects and everything in between. The exhibition brings public attention to young artists who are making their first steps in the field of graphic design and illustration.

Brick City Gallery: 215 W. Mill, will be open for the March 2 Art Walk, but has a teaser display of images and postcards for its new exhibition with Randy Bacon that opens March 20.

The walk begins at 6:00pm on Friday night, and all of the participating locations will be open, with most locations providing complimentary refreshments.
