Missouri State Alumni Striving for Great Achievements!

March 22, 2018 by Nathan Morris

Missouri State University doesn’t just teach young adults how to read at a collegiate level, or draw a human figure. In Art+Design, students are being prepared for the integrated world of art and business. Here are some examples of the wonderful things Art+Design continue to strive for.

Patsy Cox, who received a BFA in ’95, currently has a one-person exhibition titled Mouthpiece at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, California. Dates of the exhibition are January 13- April 29, 2018. As of this writing, a link to the exhibition can be found on the AMOCA website.

Zach Tate, BFA 2009, was elected as the next Director- at- Large for NCECA (National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts) at the annual conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He also was invited to present a lecture and performance piece on March 17, 2018, at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, California.

Craig Hartenberger, BFA 2012, was recently accepted into the MFA ceramics graduate program at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.

Geoffrey Kunkler, BFA 2004, presented a lecture on re-purposing electric kilns into soda- fired kilns at the 2018 NCECA conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He also exhibited new ceramic tea bowls in the invitational exhibition Ten Out of Ten at Carlow University in Pittsburgh during the conference.

Congratulations to these alumni for seeking their greater potential, and making their MISSOURI STATEMENT!
