Welcome back Bears! The semester is quickly coming to a close, with finals week beginning in JUST 2 days! If you’re looking for a break from studying, some amazing art to enjoy, or just the refreshments, please join us on Friday, December 7th, for the last Art Walk of 2018!
The Walk begins at 6:00PM-10:00PM, with over two dozen Art Walk locations for live art demonstrations, hands-on painting, an immersive art installation, ukuleles, live theatrical performances, a traditional Posada, DWNTWN Magazine, artist receptions and more.
MSU Brick City Gallery, 215 W. Mill, proudly presents the Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Exhibition for First Friday in December! Join us for the annual BFA Senior Exhibition this year, with 13 artists majoring in a variety of subjects; including Painting, Metals, Photography, and more… There will also be a closing reception starting at 6:00PM, with complimentary refreshments provided.
MSU Center of International Programs, 301 S. Jefferson, invites you to a traditional Posada, presented by visiting students from Mexico. The Posada is a representation of the journey of Joseph and Mary to find a place for their son to be born. Guests will enjoy a musical re-enactment, and traditional drinks and sweets served at the celebration.
MSU Student Exhibition Center, 838 E. Walnut St., presents MSU Design Students Final Project Exhibition with an Art Walk reception Dec. 7. By the end of the senior year, each student from the Design Program must participate in the Final Project Exhibition, working with an actual Springfield nonprofit group or business to develop and execute every stage of a design assignment from concept to delivery. The exhibition includes print pieces, supplementary research sketches, proofs, etc.
