Care packages are a great way for you to remind your student that you are there for them. They are also a good way for your student to feel like they are at home. Coming home to find a box with your name on it and goodies inside makes the day better. Missouri State offers family members the opportunity to send care packages through the Residence Hall Association. Some of these care packages are themed for specific holidays, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. You can go onto Missouri State’s website and sign up to send your student (if they live in a residence hall) a care package.

If you want to send a personal care package, especially for those of you whose students live off campus/commute, here are a few items that would be a great addition.
1. Money! Sending money our way can help us buy groceries, go out to eat, or buy something that we have been wanting down here in Springfield. Having a few extra bucks in our wallet is always nice.
2. Food! Sending us our favorite snack will brighten up our day. You could even send us microwaveable food such as mac-n-cheese, Ramen, or anything that could survive the mail.
3. Anything we can use for our residence hall room! Different decorations for the holidays that we can spice up our room with are fun. Maybe sending an extra pillow or new sheets so we don’t have to do laundry. Speaking of laundry, sending us detergent so we can actually do laundry would help.
Hopefully this blog helped you with what you can send your student. If you have any questions or need different ideas, Google care package ideas and find some your student would love!
