Bear POWER (Promoting Opportunities for Work, Education, and Resilience), a program in the College of Education, is for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This program follows high school graduation. Students earn a non-degree certificate after completing this two year, five semester program. After graduation, Bear POWER students will be ready to find a job that matches their skills and dreams.
You can become a Bear POWER Ambassador and mentor a Bear Power student. Bear POWER Ambassadors are student volunteers who support and empower Bear POWER students in their college experiences.
You will form one-on-one relationships with Bear POWER students and engage with them both academically and socially. If you are interested in becoming a Bear POWER Ambassador you can email BearPOWER@MissouriState.edu, and they will be in contact with you about the application process.
