Get Ready for the 2025-2026 FAFSA! 🎉

November 7, 2024 by Priscilla Childress

It’s almost time to apply for financial aid! On December 1, the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available, and we want to help you and your family prepare so you’re ready to file ASAP!

Here’s how to make sure you’re FAFSA-ready:

  1. Create FSA IDs: Both the student and at least one parent/contributor need an FSA ID to sign the FAFSA online. If you don’t have one yet, go to studentaid.gov to set it up. (Bonus: you can also use this ID to track your financial aid in the future!)
  1. Gather Your Info: Have key details ready like Social Security numbers, tax returns, and bank statements. It makes filling out the FAFSA much faster!
  1. File Early: Mark your calendar! Submitting by February 1, 2025 is the key to meeting MSU’s Priority FAFSA Filing Deadline. But if you can, file as close to December 1 as possible—some aid is given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Getting a jump-start on the FAFSA means peace of mind—and a head start toward funding your college journey. Let’s make this process a breeze together! 🌟
