Bryan Young, a Criminology and Criminal Justice major, began employment with the State of Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections as a Probation and Parole Officer this week in Baton Rouge, prior to his set graduation date of May 15, 2015. Bryan has been taking classes at Missouri State University since 2007 and has strived to earn his Bachelor’s degree while maintaining full time employment in the construction field, where he had even gained a promotion to a Project Superintendent. His educational background and employment experience were two great attributes that have helped Bryan start his career just a month before he officially becomes a graduate of the Criminology and Criminal Justice program. He admits that getting hired prior to graduation was not the easiest task, but he believes that his educational pursuits and extensive and loyal work history have helped him achieve this goal. Bryan thanks the faculty and his advisor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice for their help and education on his journey. He is looking forward to becoming POST certified within the next 12 weeks and embarking upon this exciting career.
