James N. Giglio, a distinguished professor emeritus of history at Missouri State University, has written a new book for young readers about Stan Musial.
“Stan Musial: Baseball Hero” has been published by Truman State University Press. Giglio wrote a scholarly biography of Musial in 2001, which was reissued in paperback in 2007.
The new book is for readers in grades 4 to 6 and is part of the Notable Missourian series, a collection of nonfiction books about people who contributed to Missouri’s history or culture. Each book is full color and 48 pages.
Books in the series include biographies about 1936 Olympic track star Helen Stephens, legendary circus clown Emmett Kelly and frontier woman Olive Boone.
