The Bear Battalion Ranger Challenge Teams were dominant this weekend at the Task Force competition that took place at Fort Leonard Wood!
The men’s and women’s teams each won 6 of 9 events enroute to a record showing. They completely dominated the competition from Eastern Kansas, Missouri, and Southern Illinois.
This is our varsity sport. The teams have been working very hard- early every morning (and some evenings) since the beginning of the year. The teams included students from MSU, CofO, and Evangel. The distance between campuses further complicated team building / training, and is a testament to their work ethic and determination.
They were expertly led by Major David Powell and Mr. Mike Simpson. Both are tremendous role models- leaders of character who we are blessed to have on our team.
The next step is the Brigade level competition that will take place one month from now at the Great Lakes Naval Station near Chicago. The winner of that competition will then go on to an international competition in the spring- the annual “Sandhurst” competition held at The United States Military Academy at West Point, NY.
