Alex Bartlett came to MSU to learn about U.S. foreign policy, international political economy, and public administration. While here he applied for an internship with the Department of State, which ultimately coincided with the Arab Spring and the Japanese Tsunami disaster. After working on overnight task forces to assist U.S. citizens in crisis he was offered a job with Bureau of Consular Affairs as a management analyst, where he served for the next four years.
On Friday, Alex received his first posting as a Foreign Service Officer, to Guangzhou, China.
Alex views his time at MSU as his bridge to a career in public service and wishes to thank his many excellent professors and fellow students, who have consistently inspired him to advance the public affairs mission of Missouri State University.
