The Greene County Domestic Violence Task Force organizes the annual Stop the Violence Conference in attempt to provide awareness and education about domestic violence issues and to inform practitioners of best practices for domestic violence offenders and victims. The conference is free to attend. Students are encouraged to attend and community professionals can receive continuing education credits. Our speakers this year were well received with one of the keynotes who discussing Family Justice Centers. This is a project that the prosecutor’s office and the DV task force is pursuing for our community and it was wonderful to have conference attendees learn about this program and what it can offer our community. This was the 5th year of the conference with over 500 attendees.
