The Department of Economics and the Economics Club welcomed back Missouri State University alumni Olivia Fernandez and Vanessa Nimmo from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City to Strong Hall on Tuesday, August 30th. Olivia and Vanessa shared, together with colleagues from the Fed joining in via Zoom, their experiences working in different roles at the Federal Reserve Bank. They also described the application process for both internships and full-time positions. It was great to hear about their paths from our Springfield campus into their exciting careers.
Interest was high from students across Missouri State University with 60+ students in attendance and only standing room space left in the room. Those students who were particularly keen had the opportunity to register to meet with Vanessa and Olivia in smaller, individualized student appointments prior to the presentation to ask their personal questions. Following the presentation, students stayed into the evening enjoying conversation and pizza.
