Water Pong 2012 raises funds for safe drinking water program

October 4, 2012 by Gale Lininger

The American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Water Pong 2012 event at Missouri State raised $1,000 for Proctor and Gamble’s Children’s Safe Drinking Water program. The event was held in early September.

Brett Huntley, ACS president and Water Pong coordinator, said, “At a cost of 10 cents per PUR packet, and with the ability to can clean 2.5 gallons per packet, we have essentially donated 25,000 gallons of clean, safe drinking water to third world countries.”

Registering an unprecedented 30 teams, Water Pong 2012 was widely considered a success, Huntley noted.
