Faculty, students article published in science journal

January 27, 2014 by Gale Lininger

Dr. Lifeng Dong, associate professor of physics, astronomy and materials science at Missouri State University, and graduate students Bo Ma and Jincheng Bai were recently published in SpringerLink Journal for their article titled “Electrochemical Impedance Analysis of Methanol Oxidation on Carbon Nanotube-Supported Pt and Pt-Ru Nanoparticles.”

This article summarized Dong and his students’ research on developing novel catalyst for fuel cells. The public is now aware that the energy crisis is going to be a critical obstacle for the future development of human beings, noted Dong, and this research successfully synthesized novel catalysts for fuel cells with good properties and relatively low cost, which has potential merits in commercial applications.

“This is the first time we have had an article published in this journal,” said Dong. “The journal had a high research impact factor in 2012.”
