Tourism, hospitality professional appointed to community board

April 7, 2014 by Gale Lininger

StephanieHeinGetting involved in the community and lending expertise is one way many faculty members personalize Missouri State University’s public affairs mission. Recently, Dr. Stephanie Hein, department head of hospitality and restaurant administration, was reappointed by Mayor Bob Stephens to serve a three-year term on Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Board of Directors.

“I view the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau as being an important advocate for the growth of the hospitality and tourism industries in our community,” said Hein. “The benefit of having a Missouri State University representative from the HRA department on the board is two-fold. First, we can ensure that we are involved in the conversations that impact the development of the industry and its future leaders, our students. Second, we can provide service to the board through research assistance and industry knowledge.”

For more information, contact Hein at (417) 836-5159.
