About the role
In the position, Bassett will interact with scientists from a broad range of fields around the state. This appointment will eventually lead to Bassett serving as president and then past-president of the academy.
He will also help the organization grow its membership.
“I think the value of state-level science organizations has largely been forgotten. It is up to us to help remind everyone of their importance,” Bassett said. “The academy provides opportunities for scientists at all levels to interact and fosters a stress-free environment.”
Congratulations, Instructor Bassett!
