From March 28-30, middle and high school students from all around Missouri will gather in Springfield for the Ozarks Science and Engineering Fair (OSEF).
The event enables participants to connect with others through science.
“The Ozarks Science and Engineering Fair encourages and recognizes student-initiated scientific research and engineering design,” Michelle Norgren, director of the fair, said. “It provides students opportunities for conversations with professors, researchers and experts in the areas they’re investigating.”
The mission
OSEF has many goals, which include:
- Encouraging independent student research in science and engineering, as well as interest in STEM careers.
- Stimulating interest and support for science and math programs in area schools.
- Promoting and encouraging understanding and appreciation of science and scientific thinking.
- Providing a public event to display and recognize area students’ research.
- Promoting collaboration and interaction between area students with scientists and engineers from the community and the world.
