The cooperative engineering program between Missouri State University and the Missouri University of Science and Technology welcomes Dr. Theresa Odun-Ayo as its new director.
An associate teaching professor at MSU since 2011, Odun-Ayo is excited for this new adventure.
“As director, I look forward to building on and expanding the foundation that has produced a top-notch engineering program in the Springfield area,” Odun-Ayo said.
Her goals include:
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff to direct program activities through shaping, advancing and upholding academic excellence.
- Develop partnerships with individuals, engineering firms and organizations in and around Springfield to assist the program in achieving its goals.
- Increase recruitment and retention by promoting and engaging in outreach programs that help build a sustainable pipeline for the program.
- Seek funding opportunities for engineering education initiatives with potential for college-wide and community impact.
- Maintain up-to-date lab facilities and support for experiential and innovative learning experiences for students.
Odun-Ayo will begin her role as director on July 15.
