The university’s Career Expo 2019 is Wednesday, February 27 from 12 noon – 3:30 PM at Springfield Expo Center on St. Louis Street.

Faculty who may be interested in service-learning and/or collaborating with community agencies for research, grant writing, student learning opportunities and more are invited to attend MSU’s Community Engagement Conference. This event is sponsored by the Center for Community Engagement & the Office of Public Affairs Support.  Faculty is welcome to attend all or any part of the conference. There is no charge for attending and includes lunch!

Roots of Wisdom will be on campus from March 18 – May 24

Local ecosystems around the world face serious environmental challenges. Many Native communities have found innovative solutions by combining traditional knowledge with modern science. Roots of Wisdom: Native Knowledge. Shared Science features stories of ecological and cultural restoration from the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Tulalip Tribes, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, and Native Hawaiians.

Volunteers are needed to be present while the exhibit is on campus – in Meyer Library. Please encourage students to volunteer! All volunteers need to sign up for at least two hours! This link will take you to the complete list of dates and times available: http://bit.ly/MSU-Roots.

  • CNAS Dean’s Office is supporting a donation drive for the newly launched Bear Pantry in PSU 131. Bring non-perishables to Temple 142.
  • Missouri Academy of Science (MAS) annual meeting on April 12-13, 2019 – register and submit abstracts (deadline is Wed, March 20)

 

NEW MEDIA-STREAMING SITE: Kanopy

The Meyer Library is offering a great new service, the media-streaming site Kanopy. You can watch foreign films, documentaries and many of the “Great Courses” series. It is free to anyone with a current Missouri State email address.
