The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new. – Socrates
Faculty and Staff – Thank you for adjusting to the ever-changing environment we exist in during this pandemic. I appreciate your resilience and your creativity. The goal is to keep everyone healthy in our community.
A couple of items that your department heads are working on right now –
All summer classes will be offered online this summer. We are still working on figuring out what, if anything, we can do about required field trips for GGP over the summer. We are also still working on what to do about required internships for HL students over the summer. Sometimes there are just as many questions as answers.
We are working to make sure that all staff could work from home if that is required in the very near future. At this point everyone has the tools, but we haven’t practiced this so it will take us awhile to get it right.
Faculty – If there is a barrier that needs to be lifted so you can work from home please let your department head know immediately. If you have not communicated with your students about the plans for the rest of the semester and a revised syllabus (should that be required) please do so ASAP. Know that your students, where ever they may be, are also anxious about the future. If they ask a question that you cannot answer please forward it to your department head and we will figure out the answer (financial aid, refunds on housing, registration for future semesters, commencement, etc).
