Advising Workshops

The Advising Basics Workshop will be held on Wednesday, August 7 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in PSU 315. The Master Advisor Workshop will be held on Wednesday, August 7 from 1-5 p.m. and Thursday, August 8 from 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in PSU 315. Brightspace Summer Camp

Bring your laptop and spend a few days learning about Brightspace and getting your courses ready for the Fall 2024 semester. This will be a hands-on lab with instruction and time to focus on building your courses in Brightspace with assistance from a FCTL instructional designer.

Date:

July 22 – July 25; 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Location: Meyer Library Rm 206

Interested faculty can register for the annual Showcase on Teaching and Learning and the Brightspace Summer Camp through My Learning Connection.

NSF MRI Proposals

NSF MRI Proposals 2024 – The submission window is October 15 – November 15.  The internal competition will be sometime in July.  Major Research Instrumentation Program (MRI) | NSF – National Science Foundation

Plaster Stadium Sidewalk closed for retaining wall work through 7/31/24

6/26/24 & 6/27/24 – Generator placed in utility yard (Crane on Briggs Street near stadium ramp)

6/24/24 thru 6/28/24

  • Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing work in addition – Levels 2, 3, 4 & 5.
  • Gypsum board installation & Finish Levels 2, 3, & 4.
  • Door frames set on Levels 1 & 2.
  • Pre-function stair commences. Exterior temporary stair removed.
  • New restroom tile installation commences. Restroom concrete floor polishing continues.
  • Curtain wall continues. Exterior glazing installation continues – south side near completion/north side commences.
  • Penthouse wall panel installation continues. Roofing at penthouse commences. Fireproofing continues.
  • Concrete for new retaining wall at Plaster Walk commences (Concrete Trucks on JQH Parkway Street)
  • Auditorium Seating removal continues.

7/4/24 & 7/5/24 – No work for the 4th of July Holiday

7/1/24 thru 7/3/24

  • Air Handling Unit delivery (Trucks on JQH Parkway )
  • Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing work in addition – Levels 2, 3, 4 & 5.
  • Gypsum board installation & Finish Levels 2, 3, & 4.
  • New restroom tile installation continues.
  • Curtain wall continues. Exterior glazing installation continues.
  • Penthouse wall panel installation continues. Roofing at penthouse continues. Fireproofing continues.
  • Auditorium Seating removal continues.
  • Concrete for new retaining wall at Plaster Walk commences (Concrete Trucks on JQH Parkway Street)

7/8/24 thru 7/12/24

  • Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing work in addition – Levels 2, 3, 4 & 5.
  • Gypsum board installation & Finish Levels 2, 3, & 4.
  • New restroom tile installation continues.
  • Curtain wall continues.
  • Penthouse wall panel installation continues. Roofing at penthouse continues. Concrete knee wall pour. (Concrete Trucks on JQH Parkway Street)
  • Auditorium Seating removal continues.

Completion Update:

  • Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression rough-in work in addition: Level 0 = 95%
  • Gypsum Board in Place: Level 0 = 95%

RENOVATION PLANS – PHASE II Three Week Lookahead (Week 2)

6/24/24 thru 6/28/24

  • Demolition: acoustical tile ceilings, gypsum board ceilings in offices on third floor
  • Finalize temporary partitions at construction separation.
  • Commence glass pipe removal on second floor.
  • Commence new electrical power mains – mechanical rooms will be accessed.
  • MSU Telecom removal of unused cabling (throughout building/all floors)
  • Installation of fencing for staging at south yard/east of main sidewalk. (Trucks on Briggs Street)

7/4/24 & 7/5/24 – No work for the 4th of July Holiday

7/1/24 thru 7/3/24

  • Demolition: demolition material removal, glass piping removal at ceilings on second floor.
  • Continue new electrical power mains – mechanical rooms will be accessed.
  • MSU Telecom removal of unused cabling (throughout building/all floors)

6/24/24 thru 6/28/24

  • Demolition: glass piping at ceilings on second floor.
  • Commence new electrical power mains – mechanical rooms will be accessed.
  • Installation of fencing for staging at south yard/east of main sidewalk. (Trucks on Briggs Street)
