Greetings on the first day of the summer semester! Our official headcount summary and reports for summer 2020 were distributed by email this morning. If you did not get it and would like to be added to the distribution list, or have any questions about summer enrollment, please email enrollment@missouristate.edu. Hope you have a great semester!
The update on SEM presented at the Board of Governors (BOG) Programs and Planning Committee and presentation on The Changing Higher Education Landscape at the main BOG meeting on February 21, 2020 are posted on the SEM Documents web page.
The former gives an update on our seven SEM goals and the current strategy development phase.
The latter was an informative presentation given by EAB. A good summary of it is on the February 25 Clif’s Notes as well.
As always, if you have questions or comments about SEM, please don’t hesitate to contact me at robhornberger@missouristate.edu or 65521.
An email was just sent to our enrollment reports distribution list. If you did not receive this and would like to begin receiving detailed opening day and census enrollment updates, please email Rob Hornberger. As a reminder, our official census is the 20th day mark of the semester (or end of the 4th week of classes).
Our total Springfield campus enrollment for spring 2020 is 22,221, down 152 (0.7%) from spring 2019. As a reminder, we were down 515 new and 532 continuing degree seeking undergraduate students this past fall 2019. Thus our decrease in our spring 2020 continuing undergraduate degree-seeking students is the anticipated net effect of those fewer students moving through the pipeline.
For more information, check the email.

There will be a SEM townhall meeting on Wednesday, January 29, 12:15-1:15 in the PSU Theater. The purpose of this event is to update the campus community on the progress of the SEM plan, including updates on
- our current enrollment status,
- the SEM goals approved by the Board of Governors,
- SEM strategy development by our councils, and
- a SEM plan timeline.
There will be time allotted to provide feedback and ask questions. Please save the date on your calendar and feel free to forward to others. We look forward to seeing you there.
