Please be advised that on Thursday October 12, northbound National Avenue will be restricted to one lane near the intersection of Madison Street and National Avenue and Madison Street east of National Avenue will be closed near the intersection in order to accommodate installation of new water piping.  This work is being done by City Utilities of Springfield to upgrade the domestic water infrastructure in the area.  Sidewalks in the area of the work will also be impacted.  Note that the southbound lanes of National Avenue as well as Madison Street on the west side of National Avenue will not be impacted by this work.  Vehicle access to the Burgess House parking lot will remain available from the east.
