Before you leave for your winter break, please take a few minutes to complete some actions to help reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

• Turn Down the Heat

If you have a thermostat available, set it back to 60 degrees and make sure the fan settings are “off” or “auto.”

• Pull the Plug

To avoid “phantom loads” on power strips, computers, monitors, printers, faxes, copy machines, coffee makers, tea kettles, microwaves, appliances, task lighting, phone chargers, etc. please make sure to unplug them from the outlet.

• Turn Off

Turn off what you cannot unplug and shut off the lights if you are the last one out the door.

• Close and Lock

Close and lock all doors and windows.
