The electrical outage scheduled for June 1, 2024 has been postponed to July 20, 2024. 

An electric outage is planned for the Springfield core campus on June 1, 2024.  The outage will begin at approximately 2:00 a.m. and power is expected to be restored by 4:00 p.m. on that same day for the following facilities:

• Art Annex
• Baker Bookstore
• Blair Shannon House
• Carrington Hall
• Cheek Hall
• Craig Hall
• Ellis Hall
• Freudenberger House
• Greenwood Lab School
• Hill Hall
• Karls Hall
• Kings Street Annex
• Magers Wellness Center
• McDonald Arena
• Plaster Student Union
• Power House
• Pummill Hall
• Siceluff Hall
• Networking and Telecommunications Offices
• Wells House
• Woods House

In addition, the power outage will affect the following facilities from approximately 2:00 a.m. until about 8:00 p.m. on June 1, 2024:

• Blunt Hall (formerly Temple Hall)
• Central Stores and Maintenance
• Kemper Hall
• Plaster Stadium East Bleachers
• Plaster Stadium West Grandstand

This outage allows for necessary maintenance to the campus medium voltage distribution system and helps ensure reliable and safe electrical service to our campus buildings. The outage allows critical work to occur in support of the construction and renovation work associated with the Blunt Hall addition and renovation, the Kemper Hall addition, and the replacement of the Art Annex with the Judith Enyeart-Reynolds Arts Complex.
