This is just an early notice that the 2026 Annual Steam Outage will occur May 9 – 13, 2026. Each year it is necessary to shut down the campus steam system to perform required inspections and essential maintenance on the campus steam system.  This outage helps ensure our steam system remains reliable and safe. During the outage, some buildings on campus may be colder than usual, and domestic hot water may not be available.

Begins 12:01 am Saturday, May 9^th.

District Steam System to be restored the evening of Wednesday, May 13^th.

Facilities impacted are (in alphabetical order):

1. Baker Bookstore – HVAC
2. Blair Shannon House – HVAC, Domestic Hot Water, and Food Service
3. Blunt Hall (to include the Vivarium) – HVAC, Humidity, Autoclave, and Domestic Hot Water
4. Carrington Hall – HVAC
5. Cheek Hall – HVAC
6. Craig Hall – HVAC
7. Ellis Hall – HVAC (Humidity Control)
8. Forsythe Athletic – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
9. Foster Family Recreation Center – HVAC, Domestic Hot Water, Pool Heat, and Spa.
10. Freudenberger House – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
11. Greenwood Lab School – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
12. Hill Hall – HVAC
13. Karl’s Hall – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
14. Kemper Hall – HVAC
15. Majors Health and Wellness Center – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
16. McDonald Arena – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
17. Meyer Library – HVAC and Humidity
18. Plaster East Bleachers – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
19. Plaster Stadium – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
20. Plaster Student Union – HVAC (Domestic Hot Water will be on the Electric Back-Up)
21. Pummill Hall – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
22. Siceluff Hall – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
23. Strong Hall – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
24. Telecommunications – HVAC
25. Wells House – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
26. Woods House – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water

Art Annex impact is TBD.  The facility is still under construction.
