New scholarship promotes Honors College participation

Award is valued at $3,500 per academic year.

Missouri State University has a long tradition of academic excellence, particularly among members of the MSU Honors College.

To support this legacy, we are excited to announce a new Transfer Honors Scholarship program beginning in Fall 2022.

Recognizing merit and involvement

Recognizing the high academic merit and achievements of many of our transfer students, as well as to highlight the value and importance of participation in our Honors College, MSU is introducing the Transfer Honors Scholarship.

This award is valued at $3,500 per academic year and is renewable for two years for students who meet established criteria.

This scholarship mirrors the Transfer Excellence Scholarship in many ways. However, it requires an additional eligibility component of admission to and ongoing participation in the MSU Honors College.

Selection and renewal criteria

To qualify for the Transfer Honors Scholarship, students must have completed or must complete one of the following prior to their first semester at MSU:

  • An associate’s degree with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher at the previous institution, or
  • At least 24 transferable credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.65 or higher at the previous institution.

Additionally, students must be admitted to the MSU Honors College.

Apply for admission by June 1 for students entering in the summer or fall semesters or by December 1 for students entering in the spring semester.

To renew the Transfer Honors Scholarship, students must successfully complete 27 hours at MSU each academic year with a cumulative MSU grade point average of 3.25 or higher. Additionally, students must continue enrollment in the MSU Honors College.
