DISCLAIMER: The above photo is not of me. The wind was too wild when I tried to pose for this photo, so here is one of Emily! Uncooperative weather has been a theme of this trip. We were supposed to clean up an abandoned homeless camp, but Asheville got more snow today than Missouri has all winter! Unfortunately, this meant our service was cancelled, but a little snow never hurt the Bears! We adapted and made the most of our Tuesday.
We spent the morning exploring beautiful downtown Asheville, ducking in and out of adorable shops to keep warm and love on some local businesses. We learned that liquid chocolate is delicious (in moderation) and Missouri State is not the only place with limited parking. Although we were cold in the morning, the Biltmore Estate kept us nice and warm in the afternoon. Today might not have turned out the way we planned, but we are thankful for the free time to learn more about the community we are serving.
