In celebration of Women’s History Month, Missouri State University’s gender studies program will honor female students who are positively leading their peers with community involvement and support. Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate any student displaying the following attributes:
- Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Current enrollment at MSU (undergraduate or graduate)
- Significant on- and off-campus extracurricular involvement
- Innovation and/or leadership in society, science, technology, culture or other areas
- Demonstrated commitment to positively influencing the lives of others
- Evidence of encouragement, mentoring, or support provided to other women
Nomination Guidelines
- Nomination is open to all female MSU students currently enrolled
- Awards will be given for graduate and undergraduate candidates
- The nominating professor is not required to provide a narrative; all nominees will be contacted and asked to provide some information about themselves
- Nominees may choose not to apply for the award
- Winners will receive a framed certificate. All applicants will be honored at the reception
