The campus earned the Tree Campus Higher Education recognition.

Missouri State University received the 2022 Tree Campus Higher Education recognition for its dedication to improving the environment.  

Tree Campus Higher Education is an Arbor Day Foundation program that honors sustained commitment to environmental stewardship.  

To obtain the distinction, MSU met the program’s five core standards: 

  • Established a tree advisory committee. 
  • Provided evidence of a campus tree care plan.  
  • Dedicated annual expenditures for the campus tree care plan.  
  • Held an Arbor Day observance.  
  • Sponsored student service-learning projects.
