JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Email Marketing Specialist

Department: Marketing/Advertising

Reports To: Digital Marketing Manager

Revision Date: 01/05/2017

General Summary: Responsible for creating email marketing strategy and campaigns to promote key O’Reilly messages and services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 Research and develop overall email marketing campaign strategy to include re-engagement, marketing and promotional activities, O’Rewards segmentation best practices, as well as any additional opportunities that arise

 Create email marketing campaigns that convey overall marketing messages clearly and in the proper tone to customers and prospective customers

 Work closely with Marketing Operation, Graphics and IS team for proper item selection, creation and coding of all types of emails to include Marketing, O’Rewards, transactional, triggered, etc.

 Ensure messages are proofread and tested prior to deployment and sent in proper form and template

 Assist with additional email strategy and creation for other departments: HR, professional sales team, etc.

 Create additional online assets as needed to include appropriate landing pages for email click through and more

 Timely reporting and analysis to stakeholders on all aspects of email programs from key metrics and insights to recommendations for growth and best practices

 Work with vendor partner to maintain email best practices including browser/client compatibility, appearance of subject lines, use of images etc.

 Provide administrative support to the Marketing team in the areas of invoice processing, budget tracking, and phone coverage

 Assist with special department projects at the direction of the Marketing Manager, Director or Vice President

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 SKILLS / EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / ABILITIES

Required:

 Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business

 Requires experience with and knowledge of email and online marketing

 Ability to write, proofread and edit with proficiency and accuracy

 Experience and knowledge of Google Analytics and coding with HTML, CSS, etc. is a plus

 Requires experience with and knowledge of the following software: Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint

 Excellent written, verbal, communication and organizational skills. Must present a professional company image and positive attitude. Comfortable in a TEAM-oriented work environment

Desired:

 experience and knowledge of email and online marketing

 Ability to analyze and present analytics and metrics

 Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team-oriented environment

 Self-motivated and creative

 Automotive knowledge desired

 Great desire to increase our email engagement and drive traffic to our website through various digital marketing tactics
