Position Summary
Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a motivated and organized student to fill a Purchasing Internship in our purchasing team at the corporate headquarters in Carthage, MO. This position will be full-time (35-40 hours per week) during the summer. The internship will provide hands-on experience with the company’s purchasing systems and will allow the individual to gain an understanding of the company’s operations.
Responsibilities
• Identify, analyze, and organize process improvement opportunities
• Provide positive customer service both internally and externally
• Research products, prices, delivery conditions, and trends for future material availability
• Develop and present reports and presentations to summarize data and research
• Effectively and promptly problem solve supply chain issues
Qualifications
Requirements
• Must be a college student seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• GPA of 3.0 is desired
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
