We bring together the best our city has to offer by collaborating with businesses and nonprofits that share our vision, remove barriers to access, and create new and unique moments for our residents to try new experiences and become active participants in our community.

Position Overview: Marketing Intern

The Marketing Intern will support the planning and execution of marketing strategies that promote the Celebrate Springfield initiative and its signature event. This role provides hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, branding, and community engagement. Celebrate Springfield is looking for a Summer and Fall Intern! The Fall Intern position may be offered after the successful completion of the summer internship, should the intern wish to continue gaining experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing marketing strategies to promote Celebrate Springfield.
  • Create, collect, and design engaging content for social media and the website.
  • Develop and schedule weekly and daily social media posts.
  • Help grow brand awareness and community engagement.
  • Collaborate on content calendars and campaign planning.
  • Capture photo and video content at events and promotional activities.
  • Attend and table at community events to help promote Celebrate Springfield, about 3-4 a semester.
  • (Fall Term) Attend the Celebrate Springfield event (including setup and activities) and provide live social media updates.
  • (Fall Term) Assess marketing performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement following the event.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Must be at least a sophomore at the time of application.
  • Must work well independently and take initiative.
  • Strong desire to bring in new ideas and implement them.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation.
  • Photo and/or video editing experience preferred.

Location: The Hatch Office, 2305 S Blackman Rd, Building B, Springfield, MO

Weekly Hours
: 10-15 Hours

Summer Semester Start Date
: June 1, 2026

Fall Semester Start Date: August 17, 2026

Compensation ($/hr): $17
