About MOCIC
MOCIC is an organization composed of member law enforcement and criminal justice agencies in the Midwestern United States working together to combat multi-jurisdictional criminal activities. As one of the RISS Centers, MOCIC assists local, state, federal, and tribal criminal justice agencies by providing adaptive solutions and services that facilitate information sharing, support criminal investigations, and promote officer safety.
Position Overview: Summer 2026 Education & Outreach Intern
The MOCIC Outreach Intern will provide support to the education and outreach team and assist in the coordination of training events and outreach activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor the entrance and lobby area to greet and assist visitors, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment.
- Assist in the planning, organization, and delivery of training programs.
- Support the promotion of training and outreach programs through various communication channels, including flyers, social media, and email campaigns.
- Maintain records, files, and databases related to training and outreach activities.
- Provide on-site support during training sessions and outreach events, including setup and registration assistance.
- Coordinate with external trainers and partners to facilitate training opportunities.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of training materials, including presentations, handouts, and instructional videos.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of outreach resources, including educational packets, displays, and service handouts.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on the success and reach of training and outreach initiatives.
- Perform various clerical duties to support the training and outreach team, including photocopying, filing, and mailing.
- Handle confidential information and perform other tasks as assigned to support the organization’s training and outreach goals.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a major in a relevant field such as Business, Education, Communications, or a related discipline.
- General computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Location: Springfield, MO
Duration: Minimum commitment of 12 weeks
Intern Compensation: $15/hour
Weekly Hours: Monday through Friday (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
