During Staff Appreciation Week, we recognized one of our valued staff members within the Marketing Department, Peggy Kahre! Peggy is the Academic Administrative Assistant and plays an essential role for keeping the Marketing Department running behind the scenes.

Peggy’s Journey at Missouri State University

While she has worked in education for around 25 years, she began her career with Missouri State University back in 2015. While starting in the ResLife then to the eFactory; in 2019, she joined the Marketing Department and has been a wonderful member since. In 2025, Peggy received her 10 Years of Service award from the university, showing her pride and dedication to helping those in her community.

Whether she is coordinating meetings, assisting faculty, or helping students who come into the office, Peggy does everything with a smile.  When asked how she stays on top of everything, she responded,

“Staying as organized as possible is key. I do that by looking ahead and keeping track of upcoming deadlines, meetings, events, university schedules, and anything else that comes up.”

Keeping track of so many different schedules, especially from multiple people, is no easy task. However, Peggy does it with ease. Her commitment to keeping everything organized and in place is something we can all admire. Another trick that Peggy uses to keep herself on track is scheduling emails to herself as reminders for deadlines and ensuring that everything gets accomplished.

Supporting Students and Making an Impact

Peggy’s attention to details extends beyond her work within the Marketing Department. Outside of work, she enjoys tending to her garden with the same level of care and precision. Gardening requires close attention to every detail, from watering schedules to ensuring each plant receives the right amount of sunlight. The care she gives her flowers reflects her appreciation for even the smallest details. That same care carries over to her interactions with students. For Peggy, supporting students is one of her favorite aspects of working in the Marketing Department. She shares,

“…seeing students succeed and knowing that, in some small way, I helped support their journey.”

We were proud to recognize and celebrate Peggy on her accomplishments during Staff Appreciation Week. She serves as an inspiration to us all and we thank her for everything she has done with the Marketing Department and the university.
