Position Overview

The Fleet Manager serves as the primary supervisor and Operations representative for assigned drivers. The position focuses on managing driver performance, maintaining effective communication, and supporting both driver and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary communication link for drivers regarding load information, advances, purchase orders, maintenance coordination, performance counseling, and company updates.
• Manage an assigned fleet of tractors and drivers to maintain effective overall performance.
• Monitor on-time pickup and delivery performance.
• Manage out-of-route miles and cost-control efforts.
• Monitor hours-of-service compliance and driver availability.
• Coordinate special routing requirements when necessary.
• Ensure drivers understand customer and company expectations for each load at the time of dispatch.
• Maintain daily records and accountability for assigned trucks and drivers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by authorized personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple and varied tasks.
• Basic typing skills.
• Ability to sit for extended periods with reasonable manual dexterity.
