Missouri State is far from the only institution with an NSF ADVANCE grant. We’ve met with many other institutions who have made great use of their ADVANCE grants. These schools have done great work to improve conditions for their underrepresented faculty. Their use of their ADVANCE grants has helped better the careers and lives of many women. There are four funding tracks within the ADVANCE grant: Catalyst, Partnership, Adaptation, and Institutional Transformation. We’ve explained the differences between the tracks here. The ADVANCE sites of other institutions we have collaborated with are listed below. We have categorized them by their grant type.
Catalyst Grant
Partnership Grant
- Iowa State (2019-2021)
- Michigan Technological University (2019-2022)
Adaptation Grant
Institutional Transformation Grant
- Iowa State (2006-2011)
- Florida Atlantic University
All these institutions make great use of their ADVANCE grants. Our meetings with them have been very helpful and instructive. Their websites host valuable resources for learning about gender equity in STEM. These include articles, links to equity programs, and their own university policies. The Iowa State website in particular hosts peer-reviewed journal articles about gender equity in STEM. Any of these sites would be great places to learn more about this program.
