Engage With Research
Imagine yourself strolling through tidy rows of presentations. Maybe you pause to review innovative findings about the cosmos, nutrition or education. Or, you might stop to take in original artwork.
If this sounds like an appealing experience, you can make it happen during Mo State’s Sparking Scholarship Spring Series, when we celebrate scholarly and creative achievements.
Research Exhibitions
The series includes four research exhibition events, which take place April 15–17.
Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning Spring Scholarship Summit
- In a nutshell: Faculty presenters share their innovative research and teaching practices in a convivial, open-house atmosphere.
- When and where: 3:30–5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15 in Meyer Library 107.

- How faculty and staff can participate: Drop by, support colleagues who are presenting and enjoy some delicious spring hors d’oeuvres.
College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS) Undergraduate Research Symposium
- In a nutshell: CNAS undergraduates share poster presentations of their research, with the chance to win awards.
- When and where: 9 a.m.–12 p.m. on Thursday, April 16 in the PSU Ballroom.

- How faculty and staff can participate: Take a few moments to walk through and check out the presentations. You’ll gain interesting insights, and student presenters will appreciate your attention.
McQueary College of Health and Human Services Student Research Symposium
- In a nutshell: McQueary College students — both graduate and undergraduate — share posters that summarize scholarly projects from a stimulating variety of health and human services disciplines.
- When and where: 3–5 p.m. on Thursday, April 16 in the PSU Ballroom.

- How faculty and staff can participate: Stop by, walk around and talk to students about their research.
Einhellig Interdisciplinary Forum (EIDF)
- In a nutshell: Graduate students from programs across the university present their research. This event includes poster and oral presentation formats, and judges award prizes.
- When and where: Friday, April 17 (various sessions, 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.) in the PSU Ballroom.

- How faculty and staff can participate:
- Stroll through the poster presentations or pop in the oral presentations to get a taste of students’ scholarly and creative accomplishments.
- Faculty are also needed for the judging process. If you can serve as a judge, register here. For anyone seeking university-level service, EIDF judging fits the bill. Plus, it’s a limited time commitment, and it’s fun.
Innovation Summit
The Sparking Scholarship Spring Series also includes a two-part Innovation Summit.
Research That Shows Up: Water, Sustainability and Community Impact
- In a nutshell: Mo State faculty, staff and community partners hold dynamic discussions exploring how research moves beyond the page and into real-world impact.
- When and where: 11 a.m.– 2 p.m. (in two sessions) on Monday, April 27 at the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center (Jay Wasson IDEA Loft).

AI in Disciplines/Tourism Across Disciplines
- In a nutshell: Presentations from FCTL scholarship recipients and an interdisciplinary panel.
- When and where: 3–5 p.m. on Monday, April 27 in Meyer Library 101 and 107.
Enjoy a Lunchtime Concert
April’s arrival brings another season of Mo State’s Brown Bag Concert Series. This year’s schedule features fiddles, folk, country and indie rock — all within the enchanting setting of the John Goodman Amphitheatre.
And since public parking is available for this event, your off-campus loved ones can easily join you. Beautiful music, a picnic and a spring day in the Ozarks — what a blissful way to live the Maroon life.

Parking Information
Starting at 11 a.m. on concert days, public parking will be available in parking lots 22 and 24 (south of Grand Street).
