Jennifer Moore is being recognized as the March Public Affairs Staff Spotlight for her involvement in cultural competency in the community. Each month, Jennifer organizes a volunteer program known as the International Potluck, which showcases a different country. This program helps immigrants and refugees meet their neighbors and learn more about their community. In addition, locals are given the opportunity to learn more about different cultures throughout the world. Participants are invited to bring a potluck dish that originates from anywhere in the world and they are encouraged to dress in international attire that may be relevant to their culture of origin. The potluck is held the second Tuesday of every month at the Library Center, located at 4653 South Campbell in Springfield. The festivities begin promptly at 6:30 pm. The next International Potluck will be held on April 12th and will feature a speaker from Peru. Jennifer’s hard work and dedication to the organization of this program is why she has been selected as the Public Affairs Staff Spotlight for the month of March!
