Synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl, are now the most common drugs involved in drug overdose deaths in the United States, with young people amongst the hardest hit. In Missouri, over 70% of overdose deaths are caused by or associated with fentanyl. It is an alarming reality that a mere two milligrams of fentanyl can be a lethal dose.
With this continuing crisis at the forefront, Brian Townsend, retired DEA special agent, Founder of Only 2mg, MSU Alum and Chapter Advisor to MSU’s Sigma Pi-Alpha Rho Fraternity, will present on April 4th a straightforward exploration of fentanyl, its lethal potency, its prevalence in counterfeit pills and other illicit substances, and how to protect oneself in today’s context.
Brian speaks, consults and trains throughout the United States and beyond through his organizations Eagle 6 Training and Only 2mg. Only 2mg signifies the alarming reality that a mere two milligrams of fentanyl can be a lethal dose. With a Board of Directors composed exclusively of retired DEA special agents, their primary goal is to educate individuals about the extreme addictiveness and lethal nature of illicit fentanyl and are committed to forging a safer future for all.
Participants gain invaluable insights and practical guidance to comprehend the crisis and take meaningful action.
While the April 4 presentation is tailored for students, all are welcome to attend. Mr. Townsend will deliver essential knowledge and education on drug awareness, prevention, and tools needed to make informed decisions.
