Angie Anderson
Accounting Specialist, OSE
When she’s not hard at work in the Office of Student Engagement, Angie Anderson spends much of her time helping the four-legged members of our community. In the course of rescuing two stray dogs, Angie came into contact with the Polk County Humane Society and was inspired to help tackle the issues of pet overpopulation and animal rescue in Southwest Missouri.
Through her work with the Polk County Humane Society Angie has helped to promote the health and welfare of animals that have been rescued, abused, and abandoned. Among her accomplishments, Angie spearheaded a national effort to secure a Pepsi Refresh Grant which helped fund vehicle maintenance, exercise pens, and supplemental spay/neutering expenses, and has been involved in numerous other fundraising events for the organization.
Angie is also a staunch advocate of spaying and neutering beloved family pets to prevent euthanizations. She encourages the community to spay and neuter its “four-legged family members” and to consider donating to the Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) and Springfield Animal Advocacy Foundation (SAAF), two local programs that promote the health and well-being of our furry companions. Because of her contributions to the animals and communities in the area, we recognize Angie Anderson in the September 2012 Public Affairs Spotlight.
