Finals may be clouding your vision for the next week, but summer is not very far away! For you, this may mean vacation, finding a job, or taking summer classes. Regardless of your summer plans, be sure to practice wise spending habits. If you are planning a big trip or vacation, create a budget and follow it. If you are taking summer classes, try to minimize the amount of student loans you have to withdraw by working part-time.
For most students, summer will provide an opportunity to work more, meaning larger paychecks. Be responsible with the increased income, as continuing to live on a small budget and saving money can help you minimize the amount of debt you will have to withdraw for the next school year when your income will be limited. Your summer job could be your greatest source of financial aid for the coming year!
And when school starts back up in the fall, be sure to check out MSU Real L.I.F.E. again! We will still be providing one-on-one student advisement meetings, presentations, and resources in order to help MSU students become more financial literate! Have a great summer!
