1. The Inauguration of the 12th President of Missouri State University – Dr. Richard B. Williams – The Missouri State University Board of Governors cordially invite you to the Inauguration of Missouri State University’s 12th President Dr. Richard B. Williams on Thursday, October 17th, 4pm at Juanita K. Hammons Hall. See the flyer for more information.
2. US Naturalization Ceremony: Wednesday, October 16, 2024, Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. Witness as those applicants in the United States Courts for the Western District of Missouri take their Oath of Allegiance and thereby complete the process of becoming a United States citizen. There will be a variety of speakers along with performances by Missouri State University’s vocal talent. This event is free and open to the public.
3. Homecoming 2024 – Homecoming 2024 is October 19th! Student events start on Sunday, October 13th going through October 19th. These include Chalk-n-Rock, RockStar and the Parade. More more information on Homecoming can be found here.

4. Department Spotlight – Office of Student Conduct – At Missouri State University, our Office of Student Conduct plays a vital role in fostering a safe and supportive campus environment. Let’s dive into what we do and how you can get involved! Read the spotlight.
5. Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony – The Wall of Fame Formal Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday, October 18th at 4pm on the 3rd floor of the Plaster Student Union at which time their plaques added to the wall outside of the Plaster Student Union Grand Ballroom. Former employees with lasting legacies are selected for the honor annually by the Board of Governors. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
Cindi Barnett, a long time staff member in the Division of Student Affairs (April 13, 1987-June 30, 2018) is being honored for “being the driving force behind the conception, development and construction of Foster Recreation Center. Her dedication to providing students with a modern, inclusive and engaging space for physical activity and wellness transformed the campus experience.” Join us in honoring and congratulating Cindi and the other 2024 inductees.
6. Join us in celebrating Careers in Students Affairs Month 2024 this October! Every October, NASPA celebrates the profession of student affairs. Through this month-long celebration, the NASPA community comes together to share their knowledge, network, and uplift the student affairs profession. Here are some opportunities for professional development provided by NASPA through the month of October:
