Being right and responsible

Back to Campus

January 7, 2021 by Chase Stockton

Welcome back, Bears! We hope that you had a safe and enjoyable winter break and are excited to kick off the new semester. As we start the Spring semester, there are some important things to keep in mind.

Moving Back to Campus

It is important that you complete all COVID-19 related procedures if you are moving back to the Residence Halls! Be sure to get the most accurate information for your specific Residence Hall on the Residence Life, Housing, and Dining Service Return to Campus Webpage. This information can also be found in your Missouri State Email.

If you got some cool new stuff over the Holiday Season, make sure you are still aware of what is and is not allowed in our Residence Hall. Certain items lead to increase dangers, especially fire risk, to our campus community. For more information, check out this Bring It or Leave It list!

If you are unsure about COVID-19 protocols, or items to bring or leave, contact your Resident Assistant or email the Office of Residence Life and Housing at ResidenceLife@MissouriState.edu.

Masking

Over the break, the COVID-19 vaccine was implemented across the country to frontline responders, nurses, and doctors. However, this still leaves a large portion of our community still at risk for COVID-19. As such, the University has extended and updated the campus-wide masking policy.

Of importance is to note changes regarding the indoor requirements for masks. Masks are required unless actively eating and drinking in designated spaces across campus, including the Plaster Student Union and Meyer Library lobby. Masks are required in the Foster Recreation Center unless actively engaging in exercise. For more information, be sure to contact the staff in these locations about their masking requirements. You can read the full masking policy on the Missouri State University COVID-19 Webpage.

Upcoming Event!

Student organizations join the Office of Student Conduct and a variety of other campus offices for MoState Family Feud on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.! Due to COVID-19, this event will take place via Zoom. 5 teams of 3 players will compete for a variety of prizes (including AirPods!) by answering questions regarding student organizations, campus climate, policies, and more. RSVP for teams will open on February 10, 2021, via our social media.

While only 3 teams will be competing, we invite all student organizations to attend to learn more about campus resources and hear from our partners! This will allow you to check off one education requirement early in the semester.
