This morning, we ate a quick breakfast and left the hotel at 6:15 to drive to a nearby city to catch our 10 o’clock flight to Nha Trang. After arriving, our driver and tour guide picked us up at the airport. They took us to a beach side restaurant where we ate shrimp, fried squid, hot pot, beef, noodles, and rice. Delicious! 🙂 I’m usually not afraid to try new food. After that, we checked into our hotel. We have a beautiful view of the beach and ocean from our room.
After we got settled in, we went to Chong Rock, meaning “husband”. The rock featues an imprent of a giant hand. It is a fairy tale/legend that a giant grabbed that rock. Then, we went to Ponagar Temple, a place made by the Cham People. I thought the stacking and clay they used to build the structures was very detailed and interesting. Later, we walked up a long steam of stairs to reach two Buddha statues. The first featured a Buddha on its side; a Nervana Buddha. The second large Buddah was at the top of the stairs.
To top off the evening, we had a cyclo tour around the city, visited the night market, and ate dinner at a local restaurant. I loved the cyclo tour!!! It was a slow paced, nice ride through the city that allowed me to enjoy things up close while I relaxed.
Well, I’m off to bed. Have to get up early tomorrow to go to Mui Ne.
