We had the morning as free time so we had breakfast at the hotel and then took a cab to the downtown of muine. They had three streets of market that sold raw meat, fresh fish, fruits, and souvenirs. Dr. Pham and I tried the cashew fruit. It was a tart like taste but the flesh of the fruit was hard to bite down on. The heat and the stench of the market place made it hard to breathe in some area but overall it was a different experience. Later in the day we went to souvenir stores for tourists and there was a huge price difference, more expensive.
We met up with our tour guide Happy in the afternoon and he took us to the Fairy Stream and sand dunes. The fairy steam is called that because no matter the time of the year or temperature, there is always water flowing there. There are also different types of sand deposits there. Red, white, and black sands.
We headed to two sand dunes, the first was called the white sand dunes, which was amazing. It’s hard to believe such a huge desert place was found in Vietnam. We took lots of pictures and then heeded to the red sand dunes to catch the sunset. Although it was cloudy it was still a beautiful shot.
