This year, I try to make the process a bit smoother by providing a swag bag (courtesy of the College of Business) for each participant. Each bag contains a t-shirt, luggage tag, flash light (for Myanmar’s surprise power outages), and other swags to be used as gifts for their new found friends in Asia. The purpose of the bag is two-fold:
1. The contents of the bag such as the t-shirts and luggage tags help to identify the participants and their luggage. The t-shirt serves as our “uniform” so that it’s easy to recognize team members from afar; and the luggage tags are to help us become more efficient at the baggage claim area. Trust me, it’s no fun trying to pull off your luggage at the baggage claim carousel. This way, we could all help each other by pulling off all luggage with the same design/color tags.
2. The students are responsible for carrying the swags to the final destination (hence lighten up my luggage a bit), and they could use the other swags in the bag as gifts for their new friends, specifically the Troy students at STU.
So if you want yours (available to trip participants only), do come by my office to pick it up. This will allow you ample time to launder your new t-shirt and have it ready for our trip.
Excited to receive my swag bag when I see you ^^ guess I shouldn’t be surprised that Myanmar is prone to have power outage. I may have to research a little about their infrastructure and their rate of development.
I gave yours to Hien. You’ll need to hunt her down when you get to VN.
