I am so glad to be able to welcome everyone to my hometown Saigon this summer. 🙂 I might have shared it with you already but I was one of the students who were in Consulate Center in Vietnam last year to listen to the presentation that we are going to do again on this trip. If we have some time over there, I would love to introduce you to the friends who invited me to that event. One of the special thing about them is the courage and passion they have for learning new things and just living life to the fullest. Most of them are high school and college students who come from lower class families. The English language they learn in school is limited and learning it at an English institution can be very costly in Vietnam so they meet at the park in their free time to make friends with foreign travelers and practice their speaking skill. It could seem strange at first sometimes that they just come up to you and say hi as strangers but most foreigners they have approached seem to enjoy it a lot because they are very friendly and they can be your international friends as well as travel partners. Getting to know them personally is such a big privilege of mine last summer.
