Kintamani – Volcano Mountain

One of the things on Bali that I am looking forward to is hiking up the active mountain in Bali.  It is known as Bali Volcano, Kintamani Volcano, and Mount Batur.  Three main villages make up the area called Kintamani where the volcano is located.  As well as several ancient villages that surround Batur Lake.  They are also known as the Bali Age Village.  Below is a picture of how far it is from Denpasar, the location of where the airport will be when we arrive.

Some hikers on a sunrise trek on the volcano.  Hopefully if we see some monkeys on our trip they won’t be as friendly as the ones in Myanmar!

    I’m also looking forward to hiking this. I think it will be beautiful to see in person. The pictures look great though.

    What, you didn’t like the friendly monkeys in Myanmar? Watching that monkey grab your longi and start tugging and then seeing the lady run over and pay it off with food was one of the most hilarious things to happen last year! Ah, good times. Hopefully they won’t be quite as aggressive if we do see some.

    From the moment I heard that we will be hiking up this beautiful volcano I have been excited. I am looking forward to this trip, but this is the one thing that I am looking forward to the most. I sure hope that we see wild life, and it’s not just packed with tourists. We are so lucky to be able to embark on this wonderful journey, and I am going to soak in every aspect of it, including all the wonderful views, food, and people along the way.

    I can not WAIT to climb this mountain!! Tanner and I have been working out regularly to build up endurance in order to not be the last person to the top! I worry about Greg’s knee on this hike but he is strong and will probably beat all of us, except Chance, up there. That view is breathtaking and I already know it will be a moment I will never forget.
